Start Accepting GRE Scores

Why accept GRE test scores?

GRE scores are a proven measure of an applicant's readiness for graduate-level work — and of their potential for success. GRE test scores:

  • can be used by admissions or fellowship panels to supplement undergraduate records and other qualifications for graduate-level study
  • provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants
  • aid in the evaluation of grades and recommendations

Backed by extensive research and ETS's steadfast commitment to fairness, validity and security, GRE scores can help you identify the best candidates for your programs.

Who can use GRE scores?

Institutions that award graduate degrees and nondegree-granting organizations that award graduate fellowships are qualified to be score users. Institutions and organizations that do not meet either one of these requirements may not be eligible to be score users, but the GRE Program retains the right to make exceptions to this policy in special circumstances. In addition, undergraduate institutions can apply to receive GRE scores of their undergraduate students.
